Biography

Simakov Ernest Iosifovich Moldovian artist (1926-2006). Moldavian painter of Russian provenance—Simakov Ernest Iosifovich. He was born 20. 07.1926 in small town Sretensk, in Zabaykalie region, USSR. In 1943-1949 he participated in the Second World War. After this in 1949 Simakov entered Kishinev Art College. In 1954 Ernest Iosifovicg entered Moscow Art Institute named after I. E. Repin. Since 1958 he started to work as a teacher in Kishinev Art College, were he was working till 1985. In 1965 artist entered the Union of Artists of Moldova. Since that time Simakov participated in all Republikan and even All-Union exhibitions. Also he was working as a graphic and books illustrator. Author’s original works of are are in Ukrainian art funds, in Art Museum of Moldova, in private collections of: USA, Canada, Australia, Israel, Germany… Artist died in 2006 in Kishinev city, Moldova.
