Biography

IVÁN LARRA. Madrid, 1965 Mi trabajo interpreta el mundo y quienes lo habitan a través de lo esencial y común a todos los seres humanos y sus culturas: el cuerpo que habitamos. Se podría decir que en él no aparece una belleza obvia, sino que apela a algo transcultural, mestizo, y exótico, a una belleza del cuerpo que reside en la gestualidad, donde normalmente no la buscamos. Son figuras que a través de su postura corporal generan atmósferas emocionales y sensibles, estableciendo vínculos con el que las observa. Gestos que transmiten fragilidad, orgullo, poder, vulnerabilidad, seducción o soledad, que comunican mediante ese código visual que todos compartimos y reconocemos. Con cada pieza que realizo intento hablar de lo Universal del Ser Humano partiendo de lo concreto, de la singularidad del cuerpo particular del modelo, sea este real o imaginado.
