Susana Botana

Biography

Susana Botana (Madrid, 1984) es Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2008). Durante la carrera es becada para completar su formación académica en la Anotati Scholi Kalon Technon (Atenas, 2006-2007). Tras licenciarse realiza en Madrid el Máster en Arte, Creación e Investigación (UCM, 2008-2009). Desarrolla su trabajo especialmente mediante la escultura en piedra y madera, prestando especial interés en “no traspasar los límites de la sencillez de la propia naturaleza”. Susana Botana materializa sus ideas en esculturas porque considera el bulto redondo lo más real y cercano al ser humano. Ha expuesto de forma individual en el Auditorio Joaquín Rodrigo (2016), Casa Panero Astorga (2015) y de forma colectiva en Portugal (Árvore, Oporto, 2015), México (Affordable Art Fair, Museo de la Memoria Histórica Puebla, 2013)y Grecia (The Art Foundation, 2009). Recientemente ha sido reconocida con el Premio de escultura Carmen Rodríguez Guerrero SEDIC (2015) y anteriormente con el XI Premio Arte Joven Artes Plásticas Fundación UCM (2008).
