Biography

[12:19, 3/11/2020] Persa Uk: ollowing free associations, Persiis Hajiyanni is creating a personal photographic archive of those flexible situations. She is capturing the seemingly non-important architectural and design gestures which are shaping the image and building the identity of a city. From Athens to Barcelona and from Seoul to New York, she is looking for the gaps in the public and semi-private sphere where the sudden and temporary find ways to appear. Often using the camera of her mobile phone, allows her photographic process to be as spontaneous as the subject she is approaching. She is looking for the traces, the additions, the structures, the proofs that something was there, the solutions, the inevitable. In certain aspects what Hajiyanni is documenting is the way needs, wishes and time often clash with the initial architectural intentions, a design that is alive. It is the combination of functionality and paradoxicality, it makes sense the same way it is puzzling. Through this publication Hajiyanni is weaving her own global sculpture park of temporary public artworks that are not signed or credited but that belong to the viewer for as long as they exist. [12:21, 3/11/2020] Persa Uk: Pop-up spaces is a personal archive or through my eyes a self proclaimed contemporary art collection that consists of a selection of sculptures, installations, and the remains of performances that we never got to witness. Unfortunately the duration of each piece, as well as the names of the creators remain unknown.
