This work is part of an investigation initiated in 2019 on the suitcase object and its possible meanings. The title of the work alludes to Mondrian's abstraction, which in the phase of neoplasticism limits the colors blue, red and yellow to extremely simplified forms, which is not the case with this painting. The scene of the painting Forgive-me Mondrian, thinks of the bags left behind and accumulated, as referred to in the Posta Restante series.

Biografía

Odette Boudet is a visual artist from Rio de Janeiro. In 2018 she moved to Porto, Portugal. Master in Plastic Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (2022) and Graduated in cinema from Federal Fluminense University (1988), she has been dedicated to painting since 2011. The artist-researcher has presented her production in the cultural scene of the north of Portugal and in Brazil. The research in painting begins with the theme of movement, displacement and affective memory, through the metaphor of a suitcase. The theme expands to the relationships between the space of painting and the cinema screen, where she finds arguments to address current issues such as immigration and violence. Thought and gesture are crossed by a camera.
