Biography

Carlos Otal Ruzafa nació en Burgos en 1981, se forma como Diseñador Industrial y enriquece sus conocimientos estudiando Proyectos de Construcción. El estudio de las formas, la experimentación con materiales y la pasión por la construcción de ideas lo acercan intuitivamente a la escultura. OTARU esculturas es su proyecto dirigido a la fabricación de esculturas por encargo. Se aproxima desde el borde, desde el cuestionamiento del mundo artístico y el industrial, borrando el límite y creando un puente entre ambas prácticas. Primeramente con el trabajo en aluminio que deviene en su actual y principal material de trabajo, el acero. Con la honestidad como bandera, Otal une la tecnología con la mano cálida. En su obra contrastan texturas pulidas y perfectas con soldaduras a la vista y marcas de trabajo aparentemente descuidadas que dejan constancia del proceso manual. Sus obras forman parte de colecciones alrededor de España, y ha participado de numerosos certámenes.
